Classroom management - The development and evaulation of a class for prospective teachers (within the framework of CAU-LIB)

Efficient classroom management is a key feature of instructional quality. Despite the relevance of the topic, it has received comparatively little attention in the training of prospective teachers. Research based programs for the support of applicable knowedge about classroom management are currently mostly restricted to teachers who have already finished their teacher training.

The project aims at developing a course on classroom management for students in teacher training based on this approach and to evaluate its effifiency. Dealing with and preventing classroom disruptions is the main focus of the course. The efficiency of the course will be evaluated within the framework of an experimental study concerning the support of declarative and procedural knowledge about classroom management.
